Oh baby it’s cold outside!!!
Winter is here, and you know that means it’s time to break out those warm and stylish jackets. With temps at sub-40 and windchill to boot, there’s no better excuse to get your cold-weather style ON! Now’s the time to break out the most amazing coats in your arsenal and/or invest in new favorites, because here in the thick of it there’s just no better opportunity for fashion.
Out here in Brooklyn, there’s a very laid-back-but-really-stylish look everyone seems to have, especially in my neighborhood – Greenpoint. It’s been an upcoming neighborhood for years; there are so many cute and delicious restaurants, coffee shops, vintage shopping… you name it! Greenpoint has got it going on, so naturally this vibey part of town became the perfect backdrop for shooting the amazing look above.
LaTonya’s rocking the J Apostrophe fur coat, Mettle high contrast necklace, and Line & Dot pleated pants - all can be found here at Collective Habit. The fur coat is a fave; made of wool and angora, the collar is super plush and the coat itself has a slouchy, oversized fit — perfect for layering thick sweaters underneath (but then again, we wouldn’t expect anything less from a cool South Korean label like J Apostrophe now would we?)
Shooting the look was all fun and games of course, as we ventured to some of my favorite spots: we started off with brunch at Five Leaves (Moroccan scramble is to die for!) Then from there we did a little bit of vintage shopping at Fox & Fawn, hung out at McGolrick Park, then finished the day with a delightful latte from a fabulous new coffee shop called, Crema. I’d say it was a fun and modish Brooklyn day!
